Highland Dance
Traditional Scottish
Dancing for beginner through adult. Technique is similar to Ballet yet
very aerobic, competitive and performance work taught. Highland is governed by
the British Association of Teachers of Dance.
Pre-Ballet
This prepares young
dancers for Ballet, students learn vocabulary, posture and execution of basic
movements.
Combo
A combination class
of several dance forms. This class covers simple technique in Ballet, Jazz, and
Tap.
Ballet
The Cecchetti method
of barre, floor, and center technique is taught. Vocabulary is highly
stressed.
Poms
A combination of
dance and cheer. Warm-up, dance moves, and choreography.
Salsa
Cha Cha, Merengue
and Bachetta are some of the Latin dance styles taught.
Hip Hop
Urban dance with a
basic understanding of rhythm, precision, synchronicity, old school dance moves
and current dance moves and an incorporation of these dance techniques into
choreography.
Jazz
Several styles of
Jazz incorporated in a center warm-up, across the floor exercises and center
combinations. Jazz utilizes isolations, parallel and turned out positions
and stretching and strengthening exercises.
Tap
Dance involving
sights and sounds, steps put to music creating various rhythms and sounds with
the feet.
